The Mandy Show Special

When MTV's Mandy Show asked if I'd be interested in appearing on their "Girls Who Kick Ass / Behind the Scenes of Hollywood" segment, my first thought was...

...DUH! Did I even have to think about it? Of course, I was interested! I love MTV and hope to work for them one day!

Then, I heard I'd have to take a tiny plane to Key West, "Ummm... second thought... seeing as I hate flying... maybe... well... uhhh... fine!" After much discussion, the show's producers convinced me to hop on the flight. After all, "girls who kick ass" shouldn't fear anything! Let alone flying!

Upon my arrival, I met other guests scheduled to appear on the show. We looked over our scripts, which included answers from our pre-interview. Yes, we did work out of a script. It gave us a general idea of what would be discussed. This was done to ensure that the show would, not only run smoothly, but would be interesting, as well.

After reviewing countless scripts, I came to one conclusion: I loved the concept! In a society where women are often portrayed as useless, sex objects, MTV's Mandy Show is like an alternative universe. Girls kicking ass. Guys parading around like pieces of meat! It's great! For those who haven't seen the show already, there's "Who's That Hottie?" and "Hometown Hottie" segments... the perfect opportunity to see hot guys strut their stuff!

All body and no brains? No way! Not the guys I met, at least. Eli (Britney's Oops astronaut!), Ryan (Christina's Genie boy!), and Johnny (a Polo model!) were such nice guys.

Everyone was so sweet -- especially the chicks on my show! Lizza, a good friend of mine who runs her own public relations firm, and CosmoGIRL!'s beauty director, Genevive, appeared on the show with me.

Before taping our segment, a certain pop star/actress/MTV host paid me a little visit. Although she seemed quite tired (a midnight flight the night before doesn't allow for much rest when you've got ten hours of tapings ahead of you!), Mandy made a point of introducing herself. Apparently, she remembered Lindzi's Page of Insanity from her early days as a pop princess. She said a few kind words and thanked me for being on the show. And then the time finally came...

When all was said and done, we hopped on a flight home. My experience with "the show that gives you moore" was an unforgettable one and I've got the tape to prove it!
