Set in the 60's, American Dreams follows one family's struggle with their aspirations and how to adopt in their ever-changing world. Meanwhile, Brittany's character yearns to be a dancer on American Bandstand. (Think TRL for the 60's!) Will her dreams come true? It seems Brittany Snow's are. Get to know the girl behind the character...

Lindzi.com: What's life on the set like?

Brittany Snow: Everybody is really happy with the storylines and script. We click really well. We goof off and work really hard. For some reason, we get along well. We do stuff all the time together. We go bowling and see movies and karaoke-ing.

Lindzi.com: What's the craziest thing you've done together?

Brittany Snow: Karaoke-ing at like 12:00 at night. We were shooting the pilot in Vancouver. All of us and the director and producers, we went karaoke-ing at this bar. Of course, we didn't drink, but they did and we sang all these songs. We were loud and obnoxious. All these Japanese people were looking at us crazy because we were trying to sing their songs and we couldn't. It was so much fun.

Lindzi.com: What was your first thought when you found out you got the show?

Brittany Snow: My thought was, "Oh my gosh. I can't believe this is happening to me." This is so weird, but at the same time, so cool. I was in a state of shock for a long time and I think I still am. I see the billboards and promos and I almost think it's another girl. Like it's happening to my best friend. It's like, "Oh, I'm really excited for her." It doesn't really click that it's me. For the first week when I found out I got it, I cried. I knew my whole life was going to change. At the same time, I was excited and telling everybody. I was surprised and happy. I had a whole range of emotions.

Lindzi.com: Definitely. Now you can bring those emotions to your character.

Brittany Snow: My character is so much like me in real life. She's getting to do everything she's ever wanted and I'm getting to do everything I've ever wanted. We're both having the times of our lives. She's meeting all these really cool superstars and I'm getting to meet all these cool superstars. It's freaky.

Lindzi.com: What's it like knowing that you're working on a possible hit show?

Brittany Snow: I don't really think of it like that. We go to work and we have this little group of our cast and crew. We have a great time and work hard. All this stuff is happening around us. We keep seeing all these ads and people making such a big deal. To us, it's just a little show that we're really proud of. It's surreal. Especially considering it hasn't aired yet. We think it's great, but people are giving it a lot of hype. I don't think you can prepare for success or not prepare for success. Hopefully, it won't get to our heads.

Lindzi.com: How is it working with Will Estes? He's a little hottie.

Brittany Snow: Yeah... I met him at the network and he was so nice. He was talking about his little puppy and how he cared for him and how he thinks dogs are like the best thing ever. I was like, "Oh my gosh. He's so sweet." When we finally got it, we clicked in Vancouver. I know he's going to be a huge heartthrob. I can't say enough about him. He's so thoughtful and funny. He's one of those people who isn't going to change with success. Once people learn more about him, he's going to have huge fans!

Lindzi.com: Now don't develop a crush on your television brother.

Brittany Snow: He's 24 and I'm 16. That would be a little weird. We're too good of friends. It would be way too weird.

Lindzi.com: What do your friends and family think of all of this?

Brittany Snow: They've given up a lot for me to be out here and do this. My friends and I don't really talk about it too much. They're supportive and they give me good advice on how to act. They keep me grounded. We made pacts that when I go back, we're not going to talk about the show. They're keeping me sane.

Lindzi.com: What sort of advice have your friends given you?

Brittany Snow: Today, I'm doing the Jay Leno Show. I'm really nervous and I called my best friend. She was telling me to be myself and told me to pretend like I'm talking to her. It's good advice. That's exactly what I needed to her.

Lindzi.com: What's the school situation like for you?

Brittany Snow: We're doing tutoring on the set. There's a one on one tutor who tutors me and Vanessa... or Vanessa and me... sorry, my mom just corrected me. It's good because when I was in school in Florida, it was hard to just sit there. I'd get really hyper. Now, I get to talk and bounce off my ideas. Though, I do miss the whole social interaction that was at school.

Lindzi.com: Do you feel like you're missing out at all?

Brittany Snow: We're talking with the producers. They're really concerned about our needs. They're going to make sure I get to go back for homecoming and the big events. It's always the little stuff I always miss... driving in the cars and figuring out what you're going to do and the parties and seeing each other between classes. When I think about it, I'm doing a great show that I love doing. There's things I'm willing to give up for it.

Lindzi.com: What do you like most about the show?

Brittany Snow: There's a character for each person. Everybody can relate to a certain character and even think, "Wow. I'm going through the same thing." There's so many aspects of this show that people can take away from it. It's wholesome and a family drama and yet it has an edge to it. It's real. We're not trying to be too emotional. We're trying to be authentic and show how kids and parents really are. It's the changes that people are going through in the 60's, but they still go on even today.

Lindzi.com: What was the last scenario on the show that you were able to relate with?

Brittany Snow: My character is so much like me. The last one, I got to meet Nick Carter and he plays Jay. There's a scene where I meet him and then we go line dancing after. It was fun because it reminded me of being back home with my friends.

Lindzi.com: What's something you've learned about yourself in the last year?

Brittany Snow: I've learned a lot of things. I'm slowly learning that maybe I can't be the best at everything. I'm really critical about myself. I always think I can do better. I want to be perfect and be the perfect actress, but I'm slowly learning that life isn't perfect and I need to do the best I can. I need to slow down and pace myself. I need to be a regular kid and live every day.

Lindzi.com: So, what "regular kid" stuff do you like to do?

Brittany Snow: I love movies, shopping, friends, running and working out, eating, talking on the phone with friends... all that good stuff that teenagers like to do.

Lindzi.com: If you could bring anything back from the 50's, early 60's, what would it be and why?

Brittany Snow: Everything they had back then we still have, but better. Maybe the style? The whole style of the 60's is so cool. I like the old TV's and clocks and cars. They had such style and detail that maybe we've lost. Everything's become more modern and simpler. Back then, everything had color and style. I'm doing my dressing room at the studio with all 50's stuff. I really like the glamour from back then. Back then, everything was cool and new. They had different shapes and colors.

Lindzi.com: What drives you insane?

Brittany Snow: I hate people who laugh when it's something totally not funny. When they're laughing to make me feel better. I feel bad. I'm like, "Okay. I'm not funny." I also hate driving out here. It makes me so insane. Yesterday I went to go get gas and I almost got run over. They have such road rage, which starts a vicious cycle because then I get road rage. {laughs}

Lindzi.com: How does life in L.A. compare with how you grew up?

Brittany Snow: It's a lot faster paced here -- from the cars to the people. It seems like everybody out here is an actor or actress. You go into a restaurant and everybody's talking about the business. The waiters and waitresses want to be actors. The bus boy is a writer. I'm like, "Whoa." There's such a vibe out here -- every one is really driven. At home, it's laid back and easy going.

Lindzi.com: Have you found L.A. to be "land of the fake people?"

Brittany Snow: I haven't met that many people out here yet. I think everywhere you're going to come across a few people who are trying to find out who they are and are trying to impress people. I haven't come across too much of that just yet.
