the mtv movie awards style lounge...
(...done kari feinstein style!)

Before the insanity of the MTV Movie Awards hit, I relaxed among the stars at Kari Feinstein's Style Lounge, a pre-show retreat for MTV Movie Award attendees.

I arrived just in time to catch Kristin Cavallari leaving with several swag bags in hand. Did she have a second to chat? Nope. She got right into the event's black Audi. Cavallari had spent several hours doing the rounds and it seemed she was ready to leave the scene... almost without her purse, but fortunately an event publicist brought it to her just in time!

And with that, I decided to do the rounds myself...

Personal highlights from swag shopping: Discovering "This is J" (my fave new company with the hottest headbands!), finding the perfect fit at The Myth of Jade Jeans (where everyone--including Amy Smart--fell in love with the company's denim line!), Leaders in Leather's adorable summer bags, and Homeofthesampler.com's surprise goody bags filled with items from indie businesses.

And that was just day one! On day two, I focused on the attendees. First up, I caught up with Nick, Aaron, and the entire Carter clan. It seems they're filming a reality show together. Based on our chit chat, it's clear the show should prove interesting in a guilty pleasure/Simple Life sort of way...

Also on hand: Vanessa Lengies caught up with former American Dreams co-star Will Estes (both of whom proved to be sweethearts!), Vivica A. Fox played poker, The OC's Autumn Reeser swore she knew me from somewhere (though I'm almost certain we hadn't met previously... perhaps in another lifetime?!), and Daveign Chase chatted, by the Seattle's Best Coffee bar, with her date (aka her mother).

My favorite moment? Surprisingly it wasn't the OPI manicure (which *was* great), but I really enjoyed chatting with LA scenester Bijou Phillips. She had the best energy about her. And who knew she loves gardening!! So much fun to chat with. She'd brought her friend Di Gaeta, who proved to be equally sweet. The two girls were eager to check out the LaRok booth so we parted ways.

With the right amount of primping and socializing under my belt, I was ready to hit the red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards. Want to check out my video coverage? Click here!

(Side note:: Shout outs to Eliane Henri of Poplife, Kari Feinstein (naturally!), Jamie Cameron, Jaimie Harris, and all the lovely celebs I chatted with.)
