Heaven on earth...

Beverley Mitchell

of 7th Heaven

Lindzi.com: So, what have you been up to lately?

Beverley Mitchell: Well, I just bought a house. I have a roommate, but it's my first big thing. It's great having my own place and being able to decorate it on my own. We did a lot of remodeling. I do all my own laundry, cooking, and cleaning... everything!

Lindzi.com: Was it difficult having to adjust between living at home and living on your own?

Beverley Mitchell: I lived on my own last year too since I was in college. It's fun. It's nice to grow up and to make that transition and move. I lived in a dorm last year with a lot of girls. Now, I'm living in a house with only two. It's weird, though. I still find myself going back to my mom's house just because that's home.

Lindzi.com: Has it been difficult growing up in this industry? Did you have trouble making friends?

Beverley Mitchell: I've known my roommate since seventh grade. We've been friends that long. I've always loved acting. It's been my passion since I figured out what the word meant. I've been doing it since I was four. It wasn't difficult. It's all I knew. I can't compare growing up in front of the camera to growing up normally because I don't know what that means. I don't know the difference. I think I turned out okay.

Lindzi.com: How's Seventh Heaven going?

Beverley Mitchell: It's awesome. We're filming our 100th episode right now. We're having a lot of fun. The cast gets along as always. We've had some great story lines. The fans love it and we're just so pleased that we can be doing something so special.

Lindzi.com: What was it like when Jessica Biel, who plays your sister Mary, left the show?

Beverley Mitchell: Jessie's going away to college. She's not gone for ever. You haven't seen the end of Mary, I'll put it that way. It wasn't a surprise to me. We've known from the very beginning because Jessie's always dreamed of going to an East Coast school. She told us when she started the show that she wasn't going to stick around and that she wanted to go to college. We all knew that. We knew what her aspirations were. She's a determined girl and if Jessie says she's going to do something, she's going to do it.

Lindzi.com: Were you two close?

Beverley Mitchell: She's my best friend. Saying good bye to her was one of the hardest things I had to do. I was balling for two days. My eyes were puffy when I went into work the next day. We definitely keep in touch. We call each other all the time and write. Whenever she's in town, we hang out.

Lindzi.com: Back to the show... What's your character, Lucy, up to?

Beverley Mitchell: Lucy's growing up. She's a senior in high school this year and she's exploring herself -- trying to be a little bit sexier. She's got a new hair color and she's just having more fun and living it up! She's trying to be responsible and a role model at the same time.

Lindzi.com: And will Lucy be hooking up with Lance Bass' character?

Beverley Mitchell: We're trying to work it out. He's got a very busy schedule with touring and all. We're hoping, but it depends on if 'N Sync will have a break. I know there's interest and that he wants to come back.

Lindzi.com: Kissing Lance...

Beverley Mitchell: {a little tongue tied} ...was funny! We sat there laughing at each other. It was a very comedic experience. We were laughing hysterically because it was so awkward. We're friends and it's always weird to kiss a friend. It was like, "1-2-3... GO!" We made it a fun experience, though.

Lindzi.com: In honor of Valentine's Day, what is the most romantic thing a guy has done for you?

Beverley Mitchell: We were driving and this guy took me the longest way home. We ended up on the beach and sat there watching the stars. He saw a shooting star and I said to make a wish. After we made our wish, he kissed me and that was the first time we kissed. It was really cute.

Lindzi.com: What's the current dating situation like for you?

Beverley Mitchell: It is really difficult to try and date guys because I can't really give them enough time. Life is too crazy with school and work. I'm a happy single. I try and stay away from the guys in the industry, but you kinda break down. They're not as bad as you think they are.

Lindzi.com: Any celeb crushes?

Beverley Mitchell: You're going for all the good stuff! I've always had a crush on Simon Rex. He's a hottie. It's funny because now I see him at all these events and I'm like, "Gawd. If he ever reads a magazine and knows I have I crush on him, I'm going to be very embarrassed." I don't think he has time to look at all the magazines, but who knows.

Lindzi.com: What is something you've learned about yourself in the past year?

Beverley Mitchell: Good question... I think I've learned what my biggest fear is... it's failure. That's my one biggest fear. I'm one of those people who aims to please everyone. I had really never thought about it until someone asked me the other day.

Lindzi.com: Tell me a little about Mean People Suck.

Beverley Mitchell: It's just a little independent film. It was a lot of fun and we did it in NY. The title says it all, "People suck." It kinda explores that concept. I played Dominique Swain's little sister. It's about someone getting back at someone else.

Lindzi.com: Mean people do suck! What drives you insane?

Beverley Mitchell: People who are judgmental and ignorant!

Lindzi.com: On a more positive note, I absolutely LUV your style. Where do you shop?

Beverley Mitchell: Thank you. I love clothes. My favorite store is Bebe. Now, I'm coming out with my own clothing line. It will probably be out in stores in the next year or so. We're just toying with the idea and designing some stuff. You'll see a lot of it in the magazines because I'm going to start wearing it out. It's going to be some sexy stuff for teens. We'll have some leather pants and jackets. We're going to have some prom wear. It's gonna be hot. It will be casual and comfortable, but also sexy and cute.

Lindzi.com: What's the craziest thing you've done with friends?

Beverley Mitchell: A road trip to Vegas! We did it because all of our friends were on a baseball team. We picked up our car, packed our bags, and were on our way to Vegas. We hung out with the baseball team and had a wonderful time!

Lindzi.com: Any embarrassing moments?

Beverley Mitchell: Too many! When I was in high school, my best friend thought she'd do me a favor. I was talking to this guy that I had a total crush on. My friend thought my pants were too high. She wanted to pull them down a little bit so they would sit more on my hip. And you can guess what happened. I was mortified!

Lindzi.com: What's your take on all these young starlets who are trying to shed their good girl image?

Beverley Mitchell: I think it's up to the artist to make the decision of whether they want to portray themselves that way. I think everybody wants to feel sexy. You just have to be careful when you're seen as a role model. We didn't ask to be put in this position and then suddenly you have hundreds of little girls following your every mood. It's really scary because you want to do things for yourself, but in the back of your mind you have to think about all these other little kids.

Lindzi.com: Do you have a favorite charity?

Beverley Mitchell: I like to do things for the Make A Wish Foundation and with Challenge for the Children, which is 'N Sync's charity. I think every charity is a great charity. I just did something on Halloween for kids with AIDS. We went trick-o-treating with the kids and did face painting and signed autographs. It was really great.

Beverley is an angel. She's a positive role model, a wonderful actress, and an entrepreneur. Is there anything she doesn't do? Thanks for a great interview, Beverley!
